CP Rail Main in Tomah
Looking east from N. Superior Avenue along the CP Rails former Milwaukee Road line at Tomah. The area to the left of the track was the eastern half of the M.o.W. Shops that was split by N. Superior Ave. The track that can be seen to the left of the main in the distance is the tail of a switch back to gain access to Keene's Transfer. It does not appear that Keene's utilizes the railroad currently. Also about five miles east of Tomah is another sand quarry. Smart Sand is located in Oakdale. Smart Sand has a busy rail-load network.

Andre Wehrle General The Keene's track was also once the beginning of the Valley Line. It crossed the Omaha Road/C&NW at the so-named Valley Junction just west of Wyeville, and joined the present-day line at Babcock. At some point, I don't know exactly when and why, this was abandoned in favor of the line going down to Necedah and New Lisbon. 12/14/2022 9:50:20 AM
