Heading West at Tunnel City
A CP Rail train heads west toward the bore at Tunnel City. The jointed rail in the foreground is a Union Pacific former CNW branch to Medary (LaCrosse). The CNW had its own bore through the ridge at Tunnel City, which collapsed in 1973. After the cave in, the CNW acquired trackage rights to share the line through with the Milwaukee Road.
