The CN train is running on the former SOO right of way. (Original Wisconsin Central) Both rights of way eventually ended up as part of the modern Wisconsin Central before being sold to CN. The mill complex to the rear is Neenah Foundry (plant 2). Plant 2 is now the only Neenah Foundry plant in Neenah, plant 1 was razed quite some time ago. |

A Green Bay to Stevens Point train waits for clearance thru Shawano Junction under the western approaches of the Roland Kampo Bridge.The train is waitng on the former CNW Valley Subdivision mainline adjacent to the Stroebe siding. Shawano Junction is behind the camera, to which the curving track connects. The Shawano Sub is parallel the track seen here to the left seperated by the trees. The CNW main here used to go straight towards the camera, and eventually curve to the right of the photo to cross Little Lake Buttes des Morts. The trestle is now part of a recreational trail. The CNW and the Soo Line, did not have a junction here while they owned these right of ways. The connection is courtesy of the Wisconsin Central after purchase of the FRVR. |

CN units take the southeast leg of the wye at Nekoosa Junction in Port Edwards. The crew will is setting up to make a shove into the tracks at the closed Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company, which was closed by then owner Domtar Paper in 2008. The railroad still makes use of the rail infrastructure of the mills 192 acre site. There may be some businesses located on the DMI owned property, however much of the redevelopment has come to a standstill in late 2017 as the company hired to raze the buildings DMI Acquisitions wanted demolished had left the property and the job unfinished. |
