A CN Neenah / Menasha local switch job in what is left of the former C&NW yard in Neenah. Forest Avenue is the grade crossing to the front. The St. Thomas Episcopal Church steeple can be seen in the distance. The buildings in front of the church are apartments. The apartments and the Gree space to the right of the train were once a Firestone and a Food Queen business, respectively. The building on the left is Forest Island Warehouse, which still gets a fair amount of rail traffic. I have read that they do a lot of warehousing for the paper industry, Neenah Paper in particular. |
